A New Avatar Is Born -Chapter 1

Hey guys, this is a short part one, because it’s more of a prologue to the series. No I will not be stopping the Is She Worth It? Series. They will continue along side this one. And just a note; sex in this story will show up later on, as character development is built up. Enjoy!

The birds chirped to the cool morning breeze, and the ground felt soft against my back, as the green tufts of grass prickled my neck. I shivered as I lay there on the lawn, eyes closed, not asleep but not awake either. I sensed a shadow loom over me and my eyes bolted open. I was staring into a set of beautiful hazel green eyes looking down at me.
“Excuse me, are you okay?” The mystery voice asked. I noticed the tone was high pitched, like a girls voice. I sat up, looking around at the parking lot of what seemed like a typical public high school. As my eyes shifted back up to the presence of the voice, I noticed that in fact it was a girl. She looked cute, with long brownish blond hair reaching past her shoulders, and a woman’s leather purse hanging off her left shoulder. She looked like a typical high school girl.
As I found my voice, I replied,”Um where am I?”
“Well that’s nice. My name is Kylie for starters. This is Rockwood High School. Don’t you go here? And what’s your name?” She asked suspiciously.
I pondered at her reply and her questions. I couldn’t remember where I was, or this school for that matter. But I knew my name was Jaden of course. Who wouldn’t know their own name? “My name is Jaden. And no sorry I don’t go here. I actually don’t remember anything, do you know how I got here?” I asked innocently, trying to recall what I was doing here.
“I don’t know, I jus walked by and saw you laying on the ground.” She said as she looked me over. I looked down at myself for the first time as well. I was wearing Nike skate shoes with long khaki skinny pants and a black leather varsity jacket. I looked like I belonged at a Skatepark or the mall. “I swear I’ve seen you before, well anyways, school is about to start, I thought I’d let you know.” And she started to walk off, but I immediately caught up to her. I had just met someone and I didn’t know who or where I was. I needed help.
“Yes?” She asked.
“Um, can you show me where the office is? I need to talk to them.” I asked nervously. She seemed to smile at that, agreed to it and walked at a slightly faster pace towards a tall bright blue colored building. I opened the main door to her, and she led me down the halls. I looked around at everything and everyone curiously. I didn’t know this school, never seen anyone before, or knew who I was. As we passed the library, I peered inside and saw rows and rows of books laid out against the walls. The computer labs were all state of the art with Apple touch screen tablets and projectors. I started asking questions. “So, why am I here? What is this place? Where are all the other kids? Can you help me?” I nagged her. I realized I was annoying her and apologized.
“It’s okay, you can ask the staff all your questions. Here we are, the main office.” She said, and immediately walked away without a second glance. I turned back and looked up at an old dusty sign that read: MA N O F CE. I opened the double doors and walked inside. A sign pointed me left and I found the counter. An old redhead lady with large rimmed glasses was reading some papers. I walked up to the desk and politely waited. “Hello?” No reply.
“Excuse me, I need help.” Again no reply.
I was beginning to wonder if I was in the wrong place but then she looked up and stared at me. Her black eyes looked right into my eyes and told me that if I ever went out of line than I would answer to her. She was trying to intimidate me and it was working.
“May I help you?” She said…more like threatened if you ask me. “Yes, um, I don’t know where I am or anything. I’m very…”
A loud beaming voice echoed through the halls of the school.
IT IS TIME YOUNG AVATAR. YOU MUST PROTECT THE WORLD AS WE HAVE DONE BEFORE YOU. YOU SHALL ANSWER TO THE SANDS OF TIME AS THEY THREATEN THE BONDS OF THE FUTURE ONCE MORE. FAREWELL AVATAR JADEN.
I stumbled back into a chair as the voice left, and the room suddenly grew cold.
“Stand up boy and tell me what you need!” The desk lady said, obviously impatient and oblivious to anything.
“Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?”
“That! That voice…”
“Don’t try some stupid Harry Potter prank on me boy. Now get up and I’ll send you to the counselor. He’s new, and began yesterday. Goes by some weird name of Roku. Now, off you go to Mr. Roku’s room. It’s 314 down the hall.” Throwing me out would have been an understatement. But I still decided to walk to the counselor anyways, hoping he could help.
When I opened the door to 314, I couldn’t explain it, but there was a feeling as if something was off in this room. Something…strange. I quietly looked around the lot room, fearful. “Mr. Roku? Hello?” I whispered as I looked around. One thing I noticed out of the bat was that…the place was so last century! There were weird orbs like fortune-telling ladies used, large scrolls instead of books, and some strange teacups which held what appeared to be…well tea. As I walked towards the desk, the door slammed shut behind me and the lights turned off.
WELCOME JADEN, I HOPE YOU’RE READY.
